Dolly Parton’s furious husband, Carl Dean, is threatening to call off their 50-year wedding vow renewal ceremony!
He’s raging because the country queen has never gotten over a scorching six-year liaison she had with a hunky bodyguard, The National ENQUIRER has learned.
Carl, 73, “hit the roof,” when he heard fans were buzzing over rumors 69-year-old Dolly had once cheated on him with a strapping 6-foot-5 “mountain of muscle” identified as Mark Kiracofe, said a source.
But the long-ago affair has been confirmed by The ENQUIRER – and we can report that it not only pushed the couple’s marriage to the brink, but Dolly still hasn’t been able to get over Mark almost 20 years later!
“Dolly can’t quit Mark in her heart – and when Carl confronted Dolly about it, she admitted as such!” the source told The ENQUIRER. “And that doesn’t sit well with Carl, who is ready to tell her to forget their planned big wedding anniversary next May – when they were set to renew their vows.
“The fact is, Carl’s furious over this, and now the bad memories of what happened between Dolly and Mark are flooding back to him and leaving him sick in his stomach.”
After a published report named Mark as Dolly’s former lover, the 62-year-old man told The ENQUIRER in early August that he had no interest in discussing “the past,” and only said he wished Dolly well.
Though the star’s reps denied the affair at the time, The ENQUIRER reported back in 1996 that Mark gave Dolly, then 50, a stinging ultimatum: “You’ll have to decide – it’s Carl or me.”
When Dolly said she wouldn’t leave her husband of 29 years, Mark quit his job as her security chief and walked out of her life. Dolly first met divorced Mark in 1989 when he started working for her as a stage equipment handler. She quickly promoted him to chief of security while their romance raged.
“Mark was the love of her life,” an insider disclosed at the time. “Over the years she’s had her flings, and Carl has had his. But Dolly never had anything quite like this before!”
