Rapper DMX alias Earl Simmons was arrested after a raid at his Arizona home on charges of animal cruelty and drug possession.
Following neighbor's complaints, a SWAT team raided DMX's stronghold on Friday and found apparently neglected pit-bull puppies.
The rapper allegedly had barricaded himself in his bedroom and failed to surrender when the big guns were was called in. Cops say they found unspecified amounts of drugs.
DMX was taken to a nearby jail and was bailed out to the tune of $75,000. DMZ was also busted earlier in the week for driving 114 mph on a freeway.
"He has a long criminal history and obviously no respect for the law," Sheriff Joe Apairo told reporters.
DMX's New York attorney Murray Richman denied the animal cruelty charges, adding "This is Sheriff Joe's moment."
