Going toe-to-toe in nine of the Academy Awards top categories are former bedmates, divorced directors, Kathryn Bigelow for The War Locker, and James Cameron for Avatar.
With the two films dueling for top spots expect the cameras cutting back like ants in their pants between the expectant directors.
Not to mention the acceptance speeches where one has to begrudgingly acknowledge the other nominee.
At least they have some practice having ready duked it out over the DGA Award (The Hurt Room won) and Golden Globes (Avatar).
The Cameron – Bigelow split was way back in 1991 and some pundits give her the edge as the DGA win usually nets the Oscar for Best Director.
Best Picture may be up for grabs with the Academy divisibly splitting the vote between art and commerce allowing a sneaky UP In the Air to steal home the gold.
