DISNEY LEGEND DEAD

The voice of CINDERELLA in the animated Disney classic, ILENE WOODS, gone at 81.
Woods had her own radio show at age 11 in Portmouth, NH, Ilene soon had her own network show on national broadcasting.
But she was an 18 year old singer when in 1948 two songwriting pals Mack David and Jerry Livingston asked her to demo some songs they had written for a planned Walt Disney feature .
’Two days later she was asked by Walt Disney himself to provide both singing and speaking voice for the newest Disney star Cinderella.
Singer and later TV chat house Mike Douglas provided the dulcet tones of the Prince’s singing voice.
Woods also sang on numerous T V shows Perry Como, Arthur Godfrey and Gary Moore before retiring in the early 1970s from show business.
She was voted a Disney Legend in 2003.
Yes, a dream IS a wish your heart makes... and THAT is Ilene onscreen animated as the artists used her as the model for Cinderella's expressions and movements as well.
