Big bucks blowback or GOP extort ploy — as Fox cancels production of DIANE LANE as HILLARY CLINTON miniseries for NBC.
The Hollywood Reporter said that Fox, also the home of the “Fair and Balanced” cable news net, would be producing a four-hour miniseries to star Diane Lane for the Peacock net.
Almost at once, The Republican National Committee voted today to ban NBC and CNN from hosting 2016 primary debates over concern that projects in the works might promo the former First Ladey and Sec-O-State, now a potential 2016 frontrunner.
The NBC project first announced at an industry confab in July.
NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todd and others raised issue that the “drama” might damage the news division's rep .
But a source at Fox told THR that the negotiations collapsed over deal points as opposed to any than “any potential fallout”.
