DEXTER REAL LIFE SLICE

description

Dexter star Michael C. Hall picked up his slicing dexterity on the job – as a door-to-door knife salesman!

As a college kid, the Emmy-nominated actor – who plays a police blood splatter specialist/serial killer on the hit Showtime series – pounded the streets of Richmond, Ind., with a suitcase full of knives to earn his tuition, sources say.

"Michael’s father died when he was 11, so money was often tight in the Hall household," a pal told The ENQUIRER.

"When he needed college tuition money in the early ’90s, he worked as a door-to-door knife salesman."

Today the 38-year-old star can laugh about how hard he struggled back in the day.

"Michael says he thinks about some female fan watching Dexter slash his latest victim – and wondering why the guy with the knife looks so familiar," the source said.

"He likes to imagine her husband’s reaction when the woman tries to convince him that the serial killer on TV is the door-to-door salesman who sold them their kitchen knives 15 years ago!"
