TV titan seeks Siddhartha-type wisdom from JULIA ROBERTS as her network spirals down the drain! OPRAH WINFREYhas found something to keep herself grounded to keep her OWN network afloat – Hinduism!

On the advice of her good friend Julia Roberts, the stressed-out  TV mogul has “begun a quest for a deeper meaning in her life” now that she’s realizing she may not be able to save the floundering network, an insider told The ENQUIRER.

During a recent week-long trip to India, the corpulent chatty traveled to Vrindavan, one of India’s holiest cities and said to be the childhood place of the Hindu god Krishna.

The trip also included a visit to the Taj Mahal and the slums of Mumbai, where Oprah donned the traditional Hindu “tilaka,” the red dot, on her forehead.

“Oprah has long been fascinated with India and Hinduism,” the insider shared. “And she made up her mind to go there after Julia Roberts came on her show in 2010 to promote her movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love,’ which was partially shot in India.”

The insider disclosed that Oprah could use some spiritual revitalization because the struggle to keep OWN afloat “has practically brought her to her knees. Ratings have been down despite countless hours of work and a fortune spent on development,” said the insider.

“Oprah feels helpless and alone. So when Julia talked to her recently, she recommended a trip to India – not only for the show, but as a source of spiritual renewal.”

As The ENQUIRER previously reported, Julia, 44, became a practicing Hindu during the filming of “Eat, Pray, Love.”

And while Oprah – who was raised Baptist, attending church in Mississippi – has not converted, she is looking to incorporate certain aspects of Hinduism into her life.

“The trip has had a very calming effect on Oprah and she said she feels more at peace than she has in years,” the insider noted.

“Thanks to her new outlook, Oprah now realizes if OWN ultimately fails, the world will go on – and so will she.”
