Hooked on drugs and desperately lonely, MACAULAY CULKIN is trying to win back the heart of his teen bride more than a decade after their split, say sources.
The ENQUIRER has learned that the troubled 32-year-old actor – who skyrocketed to fame as the lovable tyke in the 1990 blockbuster “Home Alone” – has been reaching out to Rachel Miner, whom he wed in 1998 when they were both 17.
They divorced just two years later.
Macaulay went on to have an eight-year relationship with Mila Kunis, but his life has been on a downward spiral since they broke up in late 2010.
In August, The ENQUIRER reported exclusively that the former child star was hooked on heroin and the powerful prescription painkiller oxycodone.
Sources disclosed that he was also spending up to $6,000 a month on other dangerous painkillers – Percocet and Vicodin – and that he had nearly suffered a drug overdose.
“Mac is lonely and desperate for love,” a friend told The ENQUIRER. “He needs help and has no one to turn to. He hasn’t been able to get over his split from Mila almost two years ago, and he can barely look at happy photos of her with her new boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher. He is trying to block Mila completely out of his life and the only happy memories he has of romance are with Rachel.”
Macaulay recently invited Rachel to an art show in New York City where some of his paintings were on display, according to sources. They hit it off so well that Mac asked her out on a date.
“Mac’s not sure if Rachel is interested in having a romantic relationship again,” added the source, “but he’s going to try to convince her to give him a second chance.”
