Los Angeles police open internal affairs investigation into the bruised and battered pix of Rihanna which were leaked to TMZ after her pre-Grammy beating by BF Chris Brown.
"The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence," the LAPD said in a statement released yesterday.
Detectives have yet to officially confirm Rihanna is the victim and Chris Brown the alleged perp in the beat-down despite his public "apology".
LAPD immediately launched an internal prone in which the pic taken "during an official domestic violence investigation" was made public.
A law enforcement source said there were a second series of pictures taken at the hospital where the swelling and bruises on the pop star’s face are even more pronounced.
"Internal Affairs is up in their butts over the leaks," the police source told Eonline.com. "They’re threatening to administer polygraphs."
The picture reveals multiple cuts and bruises to the woman’s forehead, lips and cheeks.
