That’s the chilling scenario Illinois State Police uncovered in an investigation that has landed Drew, 55, behind bars, charged with Kathleen’s murder more than five years ago.
The ENQUIRER has learned that cops have a secret witness and key pieces of evidence against former Bolingbrook, Ill., police sergeant Drew – and they now firmly believe that he killed his third wife, Kathleen. Drew, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, is also a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy.
"Police believe Kathleen then went to sleep, because they later found her bed unmade," according to a source with connections to the investigation.
"Detectives are convinced Drew got into Kathleen’s home a few hours later (the early morning of Feb. 29, 2004) with a garage door key he copied after borrowing an original from one of his sons.
"Drew then snuck up to Kathleen’s bedroom and awakened her. The two of them argued.
"Police say Drew used his fists or a bat to beat Kathleen unconscious. Then he filled Kathleen’s bathtub and held her head under the water until she expired."
