The 40 Year-Old Virgin costar Shelley Malil has been charged with attempted murder after his girlfriend was stabbed more than 20 times.
Authorities confirm the victims ID as Kendra Beebe, a 35 year old mother of two who worked as an insurance broker in Carlsbad, California. Beebe is still listed in critical condition.
Neighbor Chuck Lee said he watching TV when he heard screaming and went to help. Lee told the San Diego-Union Tribune he saw a man with a knife restraining the victim.
Another neighbor said Beebe was having a dinner with a date when Malil showed up with a knife. The scared date ran to the neighbor’s house and “was bleeding.”
Deputies found Beebe after responding to screams for help and breaking glass.
Malil remained in custody on $2 million bail after being charged with premeditated attempted murder, causing great bodily injury and using a deadly weapon.
The actor who has appeared on numerous TV shows like NYPD Blue and Scrubs faces a maximum sentence of life if convicted.
A spokesman for the San Diego County District Attorney said Malil was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
