COPPERFIELD RAPE SCANDAL: NEW DETAILS

description

In a series of bombshell investigative reports in 2007 The ENQUIRER first broke the shocking story of the woman who alleges magician David Copperfield lured her to his Bahamas hideaway and then sexually assaulted and beat her.

In our November 5, 2007 edition The ENQUIRER reported allegations that that the 22 year old beauty, who was  a fashion model and former Miss Washington USA contestant, was mauled in a deliberate sex attack by the Vegas showman when they met in July 07.

In an explosive interview Nov. 12, 2007 the victim’s father alleged how Copperfield lured his star-struck daughter to his island hideaway with the promise of networking with show biz big shots.

That night, she claims, Copperfield entered her room and brutally raped her.

"He pinned her arms on the bed, but she tried her best to fight back and was left with bruises after he struck her, " her close friend told The ENQUIRER. "He punched her and ripped off her clothes. She tried to fight him off but couldn’t."

As an FBI investigation unfolded, agents dug deep in the magician’s past, revealing a prior bust for cocaine possession and October  2008 we revealed that, despite all Copperfield’s posturing and legal maneuvering, he couldn’t escape the rape accusation.

Now, two years almost exactly to the date she was attacked, July 29, 2009,  the victim is fighting back with a lawsuit filed in Federal Court in Seattle in which she charges David Seth Kotkin, Copperfield’s real name, as the man who beat and raped her.

As news of the lawsuit exploded in mainstream media, Copperfield’s lawyers FINALLY issued a denial, blaming the alleged victim, saying the lawsuit is "extortion for money, plain and simple."
