Coolio a.k.a. Artis Leon Ivey Jr., the rap artist turned "ghetto witchdoctor superstar chef," as he bills himself, was busted yesterday by LAPD.
Coolio was stopped on Sunset Boulevard about 1 A.M. on a routine sweep when cops noticed the tags on his Hummer had expired.
Los Angeles Police Officer April Harding stated Coolio was booked on an outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrant for driving with a suspended license.
He was released later on a$10K bond.
Coolio’s biggest hit in 1995 "Gangsta’s Paradise" was popularized in the film Dangerous Minds.
Of late, the rapper has launched a web food show, Cooking with Coolio. He boasts it will "make you forget about every cooking show you’ve ever heard."
