COLBERT: OUR NEXT PRESIDENT?

description

The Colbert Report‘s Steven Colbert says he will be running for President of the United States!

“After nearly 15 minutes of soul-searching, I have heard the call,” Colbert said about his candidacy. The funnyman plans to run in South Carolina — and no where else — as the face of both and Democrat and Republican parties. Colbert says he chose South Carolina because that’s where he was raised (he was born in Washington, D.C.) — and where he could capitalize on his status as a “favorite son.”

Turns out, with a little bit of money Colbert can accomplish his dream. Under state election rules, anyone can get on the Republican ballot for a fee of $35,000, according to officials. To get on the Democratic ballot, the fee is $2,500.
