A CLOCKWORK ORANGE STAR WARREN CLARKE DEAD

Warren Clarke who played the thuggish DIM in Stanley Kubrick’s film “A Clockwork Orange” has died at 67.

 His reps issued a statement published inThe Guardian newspaper: "The actor Warren Clarke died peacefully in his sleep on 12 November 2014, after a short illness."

Known for child like mug and hulkish build, Clarke played key droog Dim a "mindless, grinning bulldog"  led by Malcolm McDowell’s ultraviolent chief Alex in the 1971 adaptation of Anthony Brrgess' seminal novel.

Clarke also appeared  in Anthony and Cleopatra (1972), S.O.S. Titanic (1979), Top Secret! (1984) and Ishtar (1987).

He recently appeared in the Red Riding trilogy in 2009.
