New docs reveal White House staffers worried about the time Pres. Clinton was spending with Monica Lewinsky rushed to get her out of the Oval Office – And “bury” her in The Pentagon.
They succeeded in getting Monica “Gon-ica” but her transfer unwittingly led to the affair becoming public knowledge and Bill’s impeachment for being a “bad boy” by the House of Reps.
Deputy personnel director Patsy Thomasson, an old Clinton insider wrote key White House personnel officials on April 9, 1996 that “Our job is to make sure she has a job in an Agency. We are working closely with DOD to make this happen for Monica. We have not finalized a deal but are working toward that end.”
But by sending Lewinsky off to work at the Pentagon in the press office it put her into contact with Linda Tripp.
Tripp befriended Lewinsky and secretly taped phone conversations with her discussing the affair.
Approximately 10,000 pages of Clinton administration records involving Lewinsky, the Whitewater investigation and the death of Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster were made public— the latest document dump from the Clinton administration.
