Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate has confirmed she has cancer.
"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer," her publicist Ame Van Iden told the media.
"Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."
Christina has garnered Emmy and Golden Globe noms for the role as an amnesiac in comedy Samantha Who?
After first coming to national attention as teenager sexpot Kelly Bundy on the long running Married With Children sitcom, Christina won an Emmy for a guest shot on Friends and a Tony Award nom for Sweet Charity.
Christina is slated to appear on a one hour TV special Stand Up to Cancer that will air on ABC, CBS and NBC September 5 to raise $ for cancer research.
