Oversized potential GOP contender New Jersey Governor CHRIS CHRISTIE secretly underwent gastric band surgery in desperate attempt to lose weight, his rep confirmed.
The plus-sized father of four agreed to the surgery, in which a tube was placed around his stomach to restrict the amount of food he can eat.
Christie who turned the big Five Oh in Sepetember said he was urged to loss the weight by his family but politicos postulated that the popular Republican is plotting a run gfor the Presidency and needs to be in shape to do so.
But he denied THAT to the New York Post.
"I've struggled with this issue for 20 years," Christie told the NY tab. "For me, this is about turning 50 and looking at my children and wanting to be there for them."
Christie has never disclosed his weight publicly but standing next to President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy he seemed a whale to Obamas’ Jonah.
Usually joking about his massive girth, Christie became livid when a former White House doc said she worried about him dropping dead in office.
Chrisitie angrily told Dr. Connie Mariano to "shut up."
Days later, on Feb. 16, Christie had the 40 minute surgery and was home the same afternoon.
Christie declined to say how much weight he has lost since the surgery.
