It’s finally official as the Clinton Family confirms former first daughter Chelsea is engaged!
A spokesman for former President Bill Clinton, Matt McKenna, has confirmed to media that Chelsea,29, and long time BF investment banker Marc Mezvinsky got engaged on Thanksgiving.
The happy couple then announced it in an mass e-mailing to pals:
"We’re sorry for the mass e-mail but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc."
The happy groom to be is the son of former Representative Ed Mezvinsky (D-Iowa) and his wife former Rep Majorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (D- Pa.) Ed Mezvinsky was released from federal prison last year after pleading guilty in 2002 to charges of bank and wire fraud.
Marc and Chelsea met as teens in D.C. and their relationship bloomed at Stanford University. They both now live in New York, where Mezvinsky works at Goldman Sachs while Chelsea attendis graduate school at Columbia University.
The ENQUIRER first reported that Chelsea and Mark were planning to announce their engagement last summer.
Sources say that the announcement was held off until now because the wedding wasn’t finalized despite a hush-hush scenario to wed in Martha’s Vineyard.
