KATY PERRY and ROB PATTINSON have bonded over the fact that they’ve both been cheated on – and pals hope it’s the beginning of a beautiful romance.
The 26-year-old “Twilight” actor left girlfriend Kristen Stewart in Los Angeles and jetted off to New York on April 30, where he met up with Katy, sources say. The two were later spotted together at the Bowery Ballroom, where they took in a show by the indie band Daughter with a group of friends.
After the concert, Rob reportedly took Katy to the Spot lounge at the Trump SoHo, and the pair stayed side by side for much of the night.
“Katy adores Rob,” said a source. “She always has. And he’s always liked her. He’s outraged that she’s constantly being betrayed by her men.”
Katy, 28, was devastated when her now ex-hubby, British actor Russell Brand, filed for divorce in December 2011, just 14 months after they wed in India. She rebounded with notorious womanizer John Mayer, but as The ENQUIRER recently reported, Katy dumped the 35-year-old rocker in March for cheating on her repeatedly.
MEANWHILE, ROB was famously betrayed by 23-year-old Kristen, who admitted last July that she’d strayed with her married “Snow White & the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders.
Although Rob and Kristen spent the last month together in L.A., pals say he seemed thrilled to get away.
“He’s drawn to Katy,” confided a friend.
“When they’re together there is an obvious chemistry, and their shared heartbreak has made for a strong bond. Everyone’s hoping they become an item.”
