CHARLTON HESTON’S GREATEST ROLE — RESURRECTED!

description

No sooner was Charlton Heston dead than his greatest role — Ben-Hur — is resurrected — as a TV miniseries!

David Wyler, the son of legendary director William Wyler who helmed the 1959 classic to an unprecedented eleven Oscars, made the announcement in Cannes.

Wyler plans to cast a younger Judah Ben-Hur in his twenties.

The late Charlton Heston was a mere 35 when he raced a chariot to a Best Actor Academy award.

The producer also plans to downplay the religious aspects of the film, basing it more closely on the General Lew Wallace novel than the Heston film.

"We want to look at the spirituality within the piece rather than directly relating it to a specific religion," Wyler told Daily Variety — despite the fact the original novel was entitled Ben-Hur: A Tale of The Christ.
