Inside the booklet for Britney Spears‘ new CD Blackout, there’s a photo of the singer sitting on a priest’s lap. Brit wears a cross necklace, fishnets and a seductive expression. In addition to the photo of Britney on the priest’s lap, there’s another one where she’s striking a sexy pose outside a confessional booth while the priest looks on.
Let’s just say the photos are causing a stir! A rep for the Catholic League told MTV News that the group considers the photos a “cheap publicity stunt that is a way to get people to talk about Britney Spears’ album without talking about her music, which is what they should be focusing on. … She should be focusing on singing and dancing and trying to be an entertainer without mocking a Catholic sacrament.”
