Only hours after our ENQUIRER world exclusive hit newsstands today reporting the bombshell news that CATHERINE ZETA -JONES had stayed at a Connecticut psychiatric hospital, reps for the 41-year-old Oscar winner confirmed she’s been treated.

In a statement, her rep said: “After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder.  She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”

In our exclusive cover story in the new issue of The ENQUIRER, we report that the wife of Michael Douglas was admitted to Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Ct., on April 6.

A source told The ENQUIRER: “Catherine checked into rehab under the alias of Terrie Kirny. Michael was with her when she was dropped off.”

Multiple sources said she was admitted in a dextox ward with drug addicts and alcoholics.

“Catherine was in the detox center with 10 to 15 other people,” said a source.

We reported exclusively that she left the facility after five days – on April 11, getting picked up in a white Porsche SUV.

Silver Hill Hospital – an alcohol, drug and psychiatric rehab facility founded in 1931 – has treated many other celebrities, including Diana Ross, Tatum O’Neal, Nick Nolte, Liza Minnelli, Joan Kennedy, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson AND Mariah Carey.

We reported that family sources said Catherine’s past year was “hell” because of Michael’s battle with throat cancer, which he announced on August 16.

The Wall Street star underwent chemo and radiation treatment and lost 30 pounds before saying recently that the treatment was successful.
