George Anthony, the father of Casey Anthony, 22, who has been charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee attempts suicide!
Anthony is currently being stabilized at Halifax Medical Center’s emergency department in Florida after he sent suicidal text messages to his family.
A hospital spokeswoman said once Anthony has been stabilized, he will be admitted for medical evaluation.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood told media George had sent text messages to his family that he wanted to end his life.
Orange County officers tracked George’s cell phone to a location in nearby Bethune Point. A description of Anthony’s car was APB-ed and was located at a motel.
Police Chief Chitwood related that Anthony told him that there was a lot of pressure and he needed to think.
Anthony was then involuntarily taken to Halifax Medical Center and was personally driven to the hospital by Chief Chitwood.
A jail spokesperson said Casey Anthony is aware of what happened with her father.
"She was told about the situation this morning by Corrections Health Services Staff," the spokesperson said.
