Country legend Willie Nelson once boasted that he smoked marijuana on the White House roof when Jimmy Carter was in office.
But Glen Campbell’s estranged son learned it wasn’t a good idea to try and meet up with President Barack Obama – with cocaine in his pocket!
Kane Campbell has battled drug addiction and spent time in prison.
Yet the 46-year-old tried to parlay his status as the son of the “Rhinestone Cowboy” to get a “meet and greet” with the Commander in Chief last summer.
“I told them I was Glen Campbell’s son,” he told The National ENQUIRER.
“They found I had an outstanding California warrant for a parole violation and patted me down and found [drug] paraphernalia and then found cocaine as well.”
After being detained at the front gate of the White House, Kane said he was arrested and taken to a hospital overnight. A lawyer helped him slip out of trouble and the charges against him were dropped.
His dad, who he hasn’t seen in years, has been battling Alzheimer’s disease since 2011, and in March 2014, the singer moved into a special care facility.
“It was a stupid idea to go to the White House with drugs,” added Kane.
“You can bet I won’t be doing that again.”
