Brooke Shields has revealed she is ready for another baby despite suffering postpartum depression following the birth of her first child.
The former child star chronicled her heart-wrenching experience following baby Rowan’s birth in her recent book, Down Came The Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression. “Now, I’m armed with knowledge, so I’m not going to be shocked,” Brooke told Oprah Winfrey during a TV interview.
Brooke, 40, also said she would consider adoption.
Said Brooke: “I would now. I think I was a little — and I hate to say this — but I was a little resistant in the beginning because I had this [idea of], ‘I want my own baby,’ having nothing to do with the amount of love I would give.”
Brooke is presently working on Broadway — headlining the musical Chicago as the singing and dancing murderess Roxie Hart. She often brings her two-year-old daughter Rowan to work with her so mom and daughter can maximize their time together.
