BRITNEY’S LONELY DESPAIR

Distraught over being separated from her sons, Britney Spears broke down while on tour in Australia, sources tell The ENQUIRER.

The 27-year-old singer desperately wanted her sons with her Down Under, but ex-hubby Kevin Federline refused to let them leave California without him, insiders say.

"When Britney arrived in Australia, she collapsed. She was depressed over not having the boys with her, and she’d hardly eaten a thing. She took to bed in her hotel room and just sobbed and slept," revealed a source.

Until recently, Britney’s comeback has been wildly successful, and her once-volatile mental health has been relatively stable. Spears  jetted into Perth on Nov. 4, but she refused to get out of bed to practice or do a dress rehearsal for her first concert, the source said.

"Britney complained of a migraine headache. She wouldn’t let anyone touch her head or her hair because she said it hurt so much," the source divulged.

"She was calling Kevin at all hours to speak to the boys and leaving teary messages. She sobbed that she didn’t want to be in Australia and said she was sick."

Britney had been negotiating with Kevin to allow the boys – Sean, 4, and Jayden, 3 – to accompany her to Australia for her month-long stay, said the source.

But K-Fat was committed to filming the reality TV show Celebrity Fit Club, and insisted the boys remain in California until he could fly to Australia with them, said the source.

"Britney hated being so far away from the boys," said the source. "She was calling friends who listened to her sob about missing her boys."

The heartbroken singer called her agent Jason Trawick, whom she’s been dating, and cried to him on the phone, said the source.  Finally, her father Jamie stepped in, said the source.

"Jamie was getting word that Britney was going to blow the tour unless her boys joined her. He was afraid she’d be sued for failing to live up to her performance contracts, so he called Kevin and told him that Britney desperately needed her boys," said the source.

Touched by Britney’s plight, Kevin relented and agreed to let the boys fly to Australia without him, said the source.

The boys arrived in Australia with their nanny, a bodyguard and Trawick on Nov. 10, said the source. Kevin will join them for the last two weeks of Britney’s tour, which ends Nov. 29 in Adelaide.

"Being reunited with Sean and Jayden changed Britney’s mood immediately," said the source.

"It pulled her out of the depths of despair."
