NationalEnquirer.com

Troubled country star MINDY MCCREADY has committed suicide at age 37.

The shocking news comes weeks after The ENQUIRER first reported in blockbuster world exclusive that Mindy McCready’s boyfriend David Wilson’s death was being investigated thoroughly by police and that homicide had not been ruled out.

Yet, McCready was the one who informed media that Wilson’s death had been self-inflicted and in the wake of the Enquirer’s special investigation had gone on several chat shows denying any culpability in the death of her “soul mate” Wilson.

Soon thereafter, McCready had been institutionalized and her children remanded to social services on Feb. 6.

According to multiple reports, neighbors heard gunshots at her house and called the police.

"She shot herself AND the dog," a source said.

As The ENQUIRER prevously reported McCready has had a long history of substance abuse and mental problems and was recently admitted to a treatment facility.

The grim comes just weeks after The ENQUIRER revealed exclusively that Mindy was under investigation by the police probing the shooting death of her boyfriend's suicide as a possible homicide. The father of her infant son, David Wilson, was discovered dead of what was initially reported as a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound.

Yet,The ENQUIRER previously reported  in a bombshell world exclsuive  that while no one alleged McCready had anything to do with death and was not a suspect, Cleburne County Sherriff Marty Moss told The ENQUIRER excluisvely: “This is a very high-profile case and we need to make sure it’s investigated thoroughly as possible. It could take weeks for the state crime lab to complete their tests on Mr. Wilson’s body, and if you’ll notice, it was Mindy McCready’s spokesperson – not anyone involved in the investigation – who made the determination that Mr. Wilson’s death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

UPDATE: The Cleburne County Sherriff’s Dept. posted a release on their website: “At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated.”
