Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million to the Sudan to help the refugees in Darfur. The donation will be split between the United Nations Refugee Agency, the International Rescue Committee, and the SOS Children’s Villages. The U.N estimates that there are 2 million refugees and more than 200,000 deaths in Darfur. Angelina is currently an UNHCR goodwill ambassador and has been since 2001. Jolie has traveled the world with UNHCR to help refugees, working with field staff and meeting with refugees in more than 20 countries UNHCR Goodwill Ambassadors are celebrity advocates of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and utilize their talent and fame to advocate for refugees.
