The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, is mourning the loss of longtime friend and cofounder of the E-Street Band, Danny Federici, 58, from melanoma.
It was Federici who asked Bruce to join the band.
With Bruce on board, the E-Street Band rocketed from boardwalk to rock’n’roll pantheon with Danny’s virtuoso keyboards an integral part of their success.
Springsteen first top ten hit "Hungry Heart" featured a heart-stopping Federici solo.
"Danny and I worked together for 40 years. He was the most wonderful fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician," Springsteen recalled.
"I loved him very much…we grew up together."
