BOOZY RFK, JR. WIFE GUILTY PLEA

The soon-to-be divorced wife of ROBERT F. KENNEDY, JR. settled her drunken-driving legal dilemma by pleading guilty - to a lesser charge.
MARY KENNEDY admitted in a Bedford Hills, NY court that her driving ability was indeed impaired when she drove over a curb outside a school, potentially threatening the lives of children.
Robert Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, who is said to have told his wife he was divorcing her prior to boozing was not present in court. Their legal matrimonial papers are sealed although Mary is named as "defendant".
Nor did he write a letter to the court supporting her.
But his mom, ETHEL KENNEDY, the widow of RFK, Sr. did as well as his sister Kerry Kennedy.
Mary Kennedy was fined $500, had her license suspended for 90 days and was ordered her to attend two drunken-driving programs.
Kennedy's psychiatrist must submit quarterly reports about her progress, the judge in the case said.
"You're going to have to live up to the continuation of your treatment,'' he told Kennedy.
"Absolutely,'' she responded.
Bedford police also said in May they responded to the Kennedy home twice in the week that Mary was collared for DUI but no crimes had committed that they were aware of.
In 1983, Robert had been arrested for possession of heroin as his carry-on bag contained 183 milligrams and he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was sentenced to two years probation, joined Narcotics Anonymous and served 1500 hours of community service.
