Hawaii Five-O is being rebooted by Criminal Minds mastermind Ed Bernero for CBS.
Benero is such a fan of the original series that he has the iconic Ventures theme as his ringtone.
Like the original series which ran from 1968-1980, 5-0 will be a police procedural focusing on top cop Dan McGarrett, the ‘son’ of original crime buster Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord).
Benero promises the seminal "Book ’em Dano" as well as the theme music will be present.
"We will try to keep as much of the original show as possible," Bernero stated.
"I’m not trying to reinvent it."
This is the 2nd re-do Benero is producing – he’s also updating the Streets of San Francisco.
