NationalEnquirer.com

After saying NO, BILL MURRAY is reportedly ready to jump back on board the GHOSTBUSTERS ectoplasm trail as the ever lovin’ DR. PETER VENKMAN.

As The ENQUIRER previously reported, the irascible Murray was so incensed when he first read the script for the new sequel that he shred the script!

WHO YA GONNA CALL? NOT BILL MURRAY!

But NOW Bill’s doing a switcheroo.

Co-star Harold Ramis confirms Bill’s Back! in the long awaited follow-up to 1989′s Ghostbusters II.

Murray stunned red carpet journos at the “Hyde Park on Hudson” preem by revealing he was considering returning to spectral franchise.

Harold Ramis told SuperOfficialNews.com, “It was kind of crazy. Just out of nowhere, I get a phone call from Bill at almost three in the morning… and he simply said, ‘Yeah, OK, I’m in!’ That’s Bill Murray for you. Surprising and straight to the point.

“Bill also said a major factor in his decision to do the movie had been all the support he received from fans.”

Co-writer Paul Horner divulged, “Word through the grapevine was that Murray enjoyed reading our script that was passed along to him a few months ago.

Ivan Reitman, who directed Ghostbusters 1 and 2, will return for the third film as will Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett, and reputedly Rick Moranis will come out of his self-imposed retirement to play Louis Tully.

Meanwhile, a reboot of the franchise is said to be underway with Ashton Kutcher, Seth Rogen and Vincent Kartheiser suggested as the next generation of Ghostbusters.

Lensing is slated to begin next year.
