The Aussie producers behind Gigantor-errific Walking With Dinosaurs arena show hit are hoping to mount the classic tale of Beauty and the over-sized Beast as a musical as soon a s they can find a theatre large enough to contain the colossal stage show in 2013.
Global Creatures exec producer and CEO Carmen Pavlovic said creature feature technicians have just finished a six-week workshop to ensure 23-foot mechani- Kong can pull off a show.
Next, comes a polish of the script based on the 1933 classic and cobbling together a dino stompin’ score.
The music of the 40 performer production will comprise songs from the original’s 1930s timeline arranged by composer, and music producer Marius De Vries (Kick-Ass) who will also provide original tunes.
The animatronic Kong will NOT be singing…sadly.
Insiders say the role of Ann Darrow first made immortal by Fay Wray will be the most-sought after role on B’way since Phantom.
