BIGELOW HURTs SOOO GOOD

Kathryn Bigelow's historic win as first woman director ever to nab both Directing and Best picture Oscars for The Hurt Locker -- trumping ex hubby's James Cameron's Avatar.

Backstage with six wins under her belt the cinematic field commander took questions from the war zone of reporters.

Ultimately, after being besieged about her ex and how she would've reacted is he had won with Avatar, Bigelow tactfully just shrugged her Oscars and said "You leave me speechless!"

The wolf pack then pressed Bigelow  about her historic win.

"I hope I'm the first of many, and of course, I'd love to just think of myself as a filmmaker. And I long for the day when that modifier can be a moot point," Bigelow said.

"But I'm very grateful if I can inspire some young, intrepid, tenacious male or female filmmaker and have them feel that the impossible is possible, and never give up on your dream."

The Hurt Locker is also the lowest grossest film to garner Best Picture pulling in $12.6 million domestically compared to the $720 million grossing 3D Avatar.

The Academy this year, in a rare move, chose quality over quantity.
