The Beverly Hillbillies‘ Jethro, Max Baer, Jr., is working on a gambit worthy of his fictional alter-ego!
Max Baer wants to buy a shuttered hotel casino in and convert it into "Jethro’s Beverly Hillbillies Hotel and Casino" based on the classic 1960s sitcom he starred in.
Sparks Mayor Geno Martini confirmed Baer met with politcos to try and hammer out a deal for the former hot spot Silver Club.
Baer, who has a home at nearby Lake Tahoe already has approval to build his casino next to a retail complex being constructed in Douglas County 30 miles south of Reno.
Baer’s flack says Jethro’s now exploring other options because retail complex has stalled in today’s shaky economy.
