PAUL McCARTNEY is a DAMN fool for love. He's now officially engaged to  Nancy Shevell.

No wedding date has been announced yet.

The lovebirds started dating in 2007 after "meeting cute" at a party in The Hamptons.

The former Beatle is girding his loins for his third trip to the altar – at age 68.

He is 17 years older than Shevell, a socialite and businesswoman.

McCartney was previously married to Linda Eastman, a rock photog,  in 1969, and one legged nudie cutie Heather Mills.

His beloved Linda, a former member of  McCartney’s Wings, died of cancer in 1998.

And his marriage with Mills culminated in one of the nastiest  celeb divorces of all time.

The split cost him an estimated $50 million because he did not have a pre-nup.

Shevell, 51, was previously married to New York politician and lawyer Bruce Blakeman.
