MARIE OSMOND suffered an emotional collapse in the wake of the fifth anniversary of her tragic son’s suicide death, The National ENQUIRER has learned.

The beloved entertainer’s son Michael Blosil, who had been battling depression, killed himself by leaping off his apartment building in downtown Los Angeles on Feb. 26, 2010.

He was just 18. In a recent message on her Instagram page, Marie wrote: “So to wrap up this very special day of May 4th, I’d like to end with a very Happy Birthday to my precious son Michael. I love and miss you!!!!! Mom.”

Marie, 55, also posted a poem that read in part: “I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. / All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. / Your memory is my keepsake, with which I’ll never part. / God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart!!!”

A close friend told The ENQUIRER: “After posting this poem, Marie collapsed on the bed in tears.

“She’s never gotten over Michael’s death, and now seems to miss him more than ever. She’s turned into a basket case!”

During every performance of her Las Vegas stage show, Marie sings “Pie Jesu,” the Requiem mass composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, in Michael’s memory.

Said the source: “Marie’s been in terrible spirits since Michael’s birthday and Mother’s Day. She’s suffered an emotional collapse. Everyone’s worried about her.”

The ENQUIRER has reported Marie once suffered such severe postpartum depression she drove away from her other children, vowing never to return.

She also endured a divorce from Brian Blosil.

Said the source: “Marie is happy in her re-marriage to her first husband, Stephen Craig. But she still can’t get over Michael’s suicide, and constantly blames herself for his untimely death.

“She always wonders whether she missed any warning signs or cries of help from him.”
