After 60 years on the air, TV journo BARBARA WALTERS pulls plug on self.

Walters, 83, told “The View” said she will reveal to viewers of her daytime show, “The View,” she’s retiring in the summer of 2014 as The ENQUIRER previousy reported.

“I am very happy with my decision and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead both on ‘The View’ and with ABC News,” Walters said in a statement released last night.

“I created ‘The View’ and am delighted it will last beyond my leaving it.”

Walters started ”The View” in 1997 and owns 50 percent of it. She will continue to produce and appear on the show until her retirement date.

POP FYI: Barbara’s father Lou Walters ran the NY nightclub “The Latin Quarter” where young Babs first hobnobbed with the elite before becoming the first woman to co-anchor a network evening news show.
