BAM’S BIG SCORE

description

As more and more Americans tighten their belts, the federal government has spent $3.5 trillion during President Obama‘s first year — far exceeding the spending of ANY other first-year president.

It is now reported that President Obama has shattered the budget record for first-year presidents — spending nearly double what his predecessor  George W. Bush did when he first came into office.

Obama has far exceeded the first-year tabs for any other U.S. president in history.

According to fiscal calculators, Bush spent $1.8 trillion in his rookie year 2001, according to gov budget figures now adjusted for inflation based on 2000 dollars.

Using the same math stats, President Bill Clinton spent $1.6 trillion in 1993.

The last president to clock in under $1 trillion was Gerald Ford, who logged a $982 billion budget in 1975.

Even Likable Ike, WW2 post-war Prez Dwight Eisenhower, brought the tab down to $556 billion in 1953 his first year.

Obama’s first-year budget, using the same inflation adjuster, is about five times that.

Guess things don’t cost what they used to. Wonder if the federal government will be out shopping for bargains the day after Thanksgiving?
