YEE HAW! BLAKE SHELTON’s ex-wife has found love with a real-life cowboy!
Sources say it’s the first serious romance for Kaynette Williams since “The Voice” coach slapped her with divorce papers in February 2006.
Kaynette, 40, has rebounded into the arms of 34-year-old rodeo champion Cody Joe Scheck, who holds the world record for steer roping.
“A mutual friend introduced Kaynette and Cody two years ago,” his mother Patricia Scheck told The ENQUIRER.
“They fell for each other instantly and have barely been apart ever since. They’re living together, and I’m hoping they’ll get married soon and give me grandkids!”
Kaynette married Blake, 36, in November 2003 and helped launch him to stardom before he allegedly cheated on her with his current wife Miranda Lambert.
WHEN Blake filed for divorce, he and country songbird Miranda had already known each other for nearly six months, and Kaynette went into a downward spiral.
“After Blake and I split up, I moved from Tennessee back to Oklahoma,” Kaynette told The ENQUIRER in September 2011. “But then Blake and Miranda moved back there to a neighboring town, and it just felt like Oklahoma wasn’t big enough for all of us.”
So she moved to Great Bend, Kan., where she’s been teaching at Park Elementary School. But now she’s finally fallen in love again and healing from the open wound of her failed marriage.
“Kaynette doesn’t give Blake much thought anymore,” an insider told The ENQUIRER. “She’s very supportive of Cody’s rodeo career, and she’s staying put with him in Kansas.”
Cody set the steer roping world rec-ord last June, besting the previous mark by almost .02 of a second, which is huge in steer roping. He compared the feat to shattering baseball legend Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak, saying: “You think it’s never going to be broken.”
While Kaynette shares her three-bedroom, two-bath house on 8 1/2 acres with Cody, her disastrous union to the country singer continues to haunt her, according to Scheck.
“Kaynette still finds it painful to talk about her marriage to Blake,” Scheck told The ENQUIRER.
“She’s a very private woman who keeps a lot of her emotions inside. But she’s determined to put all of that behind her and move on.”
A source close to Kaynette added: “Blake isn’t half the man Cody is. He’s a pretend cowboy while Cody is the real thing.
“Kaynette is the happiest she’s ever been, and it’s all due to Cody.
“Besides that, every time she hears a story about Blake supposedly cheating on Miranda, Kaynette gets a big grin on her face. As far as she’s concerned, Blake is Miranda’s problem now. A leopard never changes his spots.”
