The Lowe-down on The Bachelor’s pappy & his slick thrill kicks. HUNKY “Bachelor” star Sean Lowe gets his adventurous spirit from his amazing dad – a daring storm chaser, mountain climber and two-time Guinness World Record holder.
Sean’s 57-year-old father Jay Lowe is said to be like a real-life “Indiana Jones,” who loves nothing better than a death-defying challenge.
“Sean may have the six-pack abs, but it’s his father who’s the real adventurer in the family,” a source close to the Lowes told The ENQUIRER.
The insurance agent, who lives with his wife Sherry in Colleyville, Texas, has thrust himself into the middle of violent hurricanes and scaled 14 of Colorado’s highest peaks. And in 2010, he broke his own Guinness World Record by driving through all 48 contiguous states in 97 hours and 7 minutes, beating the old mark by five hours.
“Sean’s a lot taller and better looking than me, but chasing hurricanes is not his bag,” the daredevil father of two told The ENQUIRER. “I’ve been in the eye of 15 hurricanes including Katrina, which knocked out the back windows of my car. I love a good adventure, and I’m always looking for the next big thing.”
Thrill seeking Jay now wants to top his Guinness driving record again and would love to compete on adventure-laden “Survivor” or “Amazing Race.”
“Whoever Sean chooses as his bride-to-be,” said an insider, “you can bet she’ll have the coolest father-in-law around!”
