ASHLEE SIMPSON ADMITS TO ANOREXIA
Husky-voiced pop star Ashlee Simpson has revealed she had anorexia — and even dropped to a dangerously thin 70lbs before she recovered.
The 21-year-old sister of Jessica Simpson said that she suffered the eating disorder when she was training to become a ballerina, and has been so ashamed ever since that she kept the condition a secret from her fans.
According to Ashlee, at age 11 she was 5ft 2ins and a mere 70lbs! She said in an interview: "When I went to ballet school, I was around a lot of girls with eating disorders, and I actually had a minor one myself.
"It was about six months of not eating too much at all."
Ashlee said it was her family's support that helped her beat her illness. She said: "My parents stepped in and made me eat. That really helped a lot." Ashlee, pictured, said she now feels proud of her body, especially her chest. "I have amazing boobs," she said. "I do, I know it. They're not too big, not too small. They're just perfect.
"I think I have good curves ... and they're womanly. I hate it when girls lose their curves.
"I think it's sexy not to be a bone, and it's sad when people get too weight conscious and don't look in the mirror and see themselves as being as beautiful as they are." The young singer, who plays a troublemaker in the video for her new single L.O.V.E., also said that she remains "good friends" with ex-boyfriend Ryan Cabrera.
