California authorities charged the former lawyer turned boy friend Stern and  Kapoor with conspiracy, unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.

Another doctor Dr. Khristine Eroshevich is expected to surrender after the weekend.

"These individuals repeatedly and excessively furnished thousands of prescription pills to Anna Nicole Smith, often for no legitimate medical purpose," California Attorney General Jerry Brown said in a statement.

Prosecution alleges the doctors gave thousand of prescriptives including opiates and sedatives to Stern who furnished them to Anna Nicole Smith between June 2004 and weeks before her death Feb. 8, 2007. 

Smith suffered a nervous breakdown after the death of her 20 year old son, Daniel Smith, threw days after Anna gave birth to Danielynn.

Prosecutors charge the doctors with prescribing staggering amounts of sleep aids, opiates, muscle relaxants and methadone-like drugs used to treat addiction, knowing full well the trouble beauty was addicted.

Stern faces six felony counts and both  doctors face seven each.
