Suddenly slovenly Brad incurs wrath of fashionable Angie.
Angelina Jolie has given scruffy Brad Pitt a new nickname – "Billy Goat Gruff!"
And sources say she’s demanding that the slobby star – twice named the "Sexiest Man Alive" – clean up his image.
"Brad originally won Angie over with his sharp-dressed appearance and good grooming," said a longtime friend of the A-list couple.
"But four years and six kids into their relationship, Brad has allowed himself to fall victim to middle-aged schlubbiness."
The 45-year-old actor planned to shave off his goatee before his summer film Moneyball, but when production was pushed back, he didn’t bother, said the friend.
And Oscar-winner Angie hit the roof when Brad showed up with his graying beard at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in mid-September.
"When Angelina saw pictures of Brad at the festival, she thought he looked hideous," divulged the friend.
"His beard is so unkempt now that she can’t even stand kissing him, and she started calling him ‘Billy Goat Gruff’ to shame him into getting rid of it."
But with round-the-clock daddy duty, Brad claims he doesn’t have time to make himself look perfect, and he committed the ultimate fashion faux pas on a late August outing to a pet store near the family’s French chateau.
Wearing baggy cargo pants, an untucked and wrinkled white shirt and his ever-present newsboy cap, the screen idol capped his "fashion don’t" with black socks and black slip-on sneakers.
"Before they left the house, Angie sneered at Brad, ‘Are you actually going out in that?’ But he
was oblivious," the friend confided.
At wit’s end, 34-year-old Angie has called on Brad’s favorite designer, Tom Ford, to help with a fashion makeover.
"Angie called Tom personally and handpicked thousands of dollars worth of casual and dress-up clothes for Brad," added the friend. "She’s desperate to get the old, stylish Brad back."
