GO-GO ANGIE BURNING OUT?!
Ever active ANGELINA JOLIE ignites health fears she’s popping energy tabs like candy, say sources.
The 5-foot-7 mother of six has slipped to a near-skeletal 93 pounds, sources say, and her partner Brad Pitt is concerned that she may be popping weight-loss pills to boost her energy level.
“Angie used diet pills a few years back, and everyone around her believes that she’s started up again,” said a source.
“She’s burning the candle at both ends – juggling career demands with her humanitarian work and trying to keep up with her rambunctious kids. Angie believes the pills give her energy to help her get through the day.”
The 36-year-old Oscar winner first began taking diet pills as an energy boost while shooting the adventure thriller “Wanted” in 2007, according to the source.
Then she reportedly used the controversial South African herbal dietary supplement Hoodia, which can sometimes contain amphetamine-like stimulants, to lose the 25 pounds she gained while pregnant with twins Knox and Vivienne, now 3.
She is said to have turned to Hoodia again while filming the action thriller “Salt,” and insiders say she popped the supplements while editing her upcoming directorial debut, the dramatic love story “In the Land of Blood and Honey.” But such pills can have serious side effects, warns a top doctor.
“Diet pills are stimulants and can cause high blood pressure and accelerated heartbeats,” Texas physician Dr. Walter Gaman told The ENQUIRER. “They can also be addicting and cause irritability.”
“Moneyball” star Brad, 47, believes she’s taking the pills just to keep pace with their hectic lifestyle, according to the source.
“Angie starts her day with a double espresso and drinks coffee until bedtime,” the source divulged.
“She sucks on candy for a speed rush, and instead of eating balanced meals, she picks at the kids’ food.
“Brad begs her to eat, but she’s GO, Go, go all the time and doesn’t listen to him. Her erratic diet has become one of the biggest problems in their relationship.”
