ANDY GRIFFITH DEAD AT 86

BELOVED TV legend ANDY GRIFFITH, 86,  has died.  

An emergent medical crew was rushed to Griffith’s homne in Roanoke Island just after 7 AM this morning EDT.

Long time pal and Universirty of North Carolina president Bill Friday confirmed the news to WITN News in North Carolina. 

Andy was first launced into national prominence in the film “A Face in the Crowd” and the hit comedy “No Time For Sergeants”

He later parlayed his folksy “aw-shucks” style into a run of hit TV shows including “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Matlock”.

Griffith was a staple of American TV viewing for more than 50 years — even doing guest shots on "Dawson's Creek" and "The Simpsons".

Reportedly, Andy has already been buried.
