Tim Russert, NBC’s Washington bureau chief is dead at 58 after suffering a sudden heart attack at the bureau.

Russert who was also the moderator for Meet the Press was recording voiceovers for the Sunday edition when he suddenly collapsed.

Russert was "one of the premier political journalists and analysts of his time," said Tom Brokaw, the former anchor of NBC Nightly News as he announced Russert’s death.

"This news division will not be the same without his strong, clear voice."
