AMANDA BYNES ARRESTED ON MARIJUANA CHARGES

Amanda Bynes

Former child star AMANDA BYNES was arrested in New York City Thursday night after allegedly throwing a bong out of the window of her apartment.

Bynes was charged with marijuana possession, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence. She reportedly underwent psychiatric evaluation at Roosevelt Hospital and was then booked at the 18th precinct in Midtown Manhattan.

A building worker at Bynes' apartment building allegedly contacted police to report that the actress was smoking pot in the lobby. Later, "officers and building personnel went up to her apartment and she invited them in," an NYPD rep reportedly confirmed. "There was a smell of marijuana and a bong in the apartment, at which point Bynes picked up and threw out the window."

The troubled starlet wore a bizarre blonde wig when taken into police custody and refused to answer questions from the paparazzi.

Update: Amanda appeared in front of a judge Friday morning. Bail was waved and she was released on her own recognizance and her next court date is set for July 9.
