“The Champions” and “East Enders” star ALEXANDRA BASTEDO is gone. The vet Brit actress, has died at aged 67.
 
Bastedo, best known for her role in the super-heroic mystical spy series “The Champions” passed after a battle with cancer.
 
Born in Hove, Sussex, in 1946, Bastedo attended Brighton School of Drama and made her acting debut in director William Castle’s spy romp “13 Frightened Girls”. 
 
She later appeared in the all-star 007 comedy “Casino Royale” with Peter Sellers and David Niven.
 
But her undeniable breakthrough role came in 1968 as secret agent Sharron Macready in the “The Champions” which was distributed worldwide. The role permantely enshrined her as a “thinking man’s sex symbol” during the the 1970s.
 
More recently Alexandra had appeared on the popular “EastEnders”, “Absolute Fabulous” TV series and in the  first Bat-Bale flick “Batman Begins”.
 
 Bastedo later became a noted animal rights supporter, founding the ABC Animal Sanctuary.
